Beijing Song Style Xinyiquan

The founder of Xinyi Liuhe Quan is said to be Ji Longfeng. According to legend, he gained enlightenment after witnessing a battle between an eagle and a bear. He then created this martial art by imitating the various forms and movements of ten animals: dragon, tiger, horse, bear, monkey, rooster, snake, swallow, hawk, and eagle. Xinyi Liuhe Quan has been passed down to the present day. Currently, it is primarily practiced in places such as Taihe, Bengbu, Beijing, Shanghai, and other areas.

Originally, Xinyi Liuhe Quan was a family martial art practiced by the Hui ethnic group and was not widely taught to outsiders. However, it later came into the hands of Song Guobin, who was of Han ethnicity. Song Guobin became a disciple of Yuan Fengyi, and he passed down the art outside his family. One of Song Guobin's third-generation disciples was Mr. Li Xinggong. Li Xinggong later settled in Beijing and promoted and developed Xinyi Quan, which eventually became known as the Beijing Songmen Xinyi Quan. Zhang Zhiyong, a in-door disciple, was one of Li Xinggong's six disciples. According to the generation hierarchy in Xinyi Quan, Zhang Zhiyong is considered a "ling" generation disciple. He is the tenth-generation successor of Xinyi Liuhe Quan and the third-generation successor of Beijing Song Style Xinyi Quan.
